About the Position

The Lower School Lead Teacher will provide instruction for a range of subjects, which may include reading, writing, math, and social studies. In addition to developing curriculum and delivering instruction, the lead teacher will be responsible for assessing student learning, managing classroom routines and behavior, building relationships and communicating regularly with families, and collaborating with other faculty.

Key Responsibilities

The Lower School Lead Teacher will provide instruction for a range of subjects, which may include reading, writing, math, and social studies. In addition to developing curriculum and delivering instruction, the lead teacher will be responsible for assessing student learning, managing classroom routines and behavior, building relationships and communicating regularly with families, and collaborating with other faculty.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a depth of training and expertise in his/her/their subject areas and as well as experience using multisensory instruction and experience in working with students with language-based learning disabilities. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and comfort with risk-taking and ambiguity. We seek teachers who thrive in highly collaborative environments, who are reflective and committed to growth, who have strong communication skills, and who demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Applicants must have at least 3 years of teaching experience and should have or be eligible for Special Education certification and/or a relevant Master’s Degree.

Salary

$60,000 - $90,000 (will prorate based on start date)
