About the Position

The Lead Judaic Studies teacher will be responsible for developing curriculum and teaching in the areas of Chumash, Chagim, and related Judaic sources.  Teachers will also be responsible for creating curriculum around and leading morning tefilla. Teachers will be responsible for infusing Jewish life and learning into all areas of the curriculum, including by collaborating closely with general studies teachers to facilitate interdisciplinary assignments. In addition to developing curriculum and delivering instruction, teachers will be responsible for assessing student learning, managing classroom routines and behavior, building relationships and communicating regularly with families, collaborating with other faculty, and modeling Jewish values for students. Teachers will also participate in planning Judaic and interdisciplinary programming in the school.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a depth of training, expertise, and passion in the field of Judaic Studies and Jewish life as well as experience using multisensory instruction and experience in working with students with language-based learning disabilities. We seek teachers who have experience with designing and developing differentiated curriculum that is accessible to a range of learners with varying degrees of background in studying Jewish text and in Hebrew language. Candidates must have a strong understanding of pluralism and embrace the philosophy of pluralism through his/her teaching.  Applicants must have at least 3 years of teaching experience and should hold or be working toward a relevant Master’s Degree.

Salary

$63,000 - $95,000 commensurate with experience.
