About Shefa

The Shefa School is a Jewish community day school in Manhattan serving students in grades K-8 who benefit from a specialized educational environment in order to develop their strengths while addressing their learning challenges. We specifically serve students with language-based learning disabilities who have not yet reached their potential levels of success in traditional classroom settings. About the Position

Teachers will provide instruction for a range of subjects, which may include reading, writing, math, social studies, and Judaic studies. In addition to developing curriculum and delivering instruction, teachers will be responsible for assessing student learning, managing classroom routines and behavior, building relationships and communicating regularly with families, and collaborating with other faculty.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a depth of training and expertise in his/her subject areas and as well as experience using multisensory instruction and experience in working with students with language-based learning disabilities. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and comfort with risk-taking and ambiguity. We seek teachers who thrive in highly collaborative environments, who are reflective and committed to growth, who have strong communication skills, and who demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Salary

$60,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience
